Demonstrative Pronouns - Δεικτικές αντωνυμίες

The demonstrative pronouns are used to indicate which entity the speaker refers to and agree in gender, number and case with the noun they refer to.

The demonstrative pronouns are used to indicate which entity the speaker refers to. The most common demonstrative pronouns are :

1	Sin. : Αυτός, αυτή, αυτό : this / celui- celle - ce (c’) ceci Plur :αυτοί (m), αυτές (f), αυτά (n) : These En : We use them to show what's near we Fr : Nous les utilisons pour montrer ce qui est près de nous Eg : αυτά τα παιδιά : these children -         αυτός ο κύριος : this gentleman
2	Sin. :(Ε)τούτος, (ε)τούτη, (ε)τούτο : that / ce, cette Plur. : (ε)τούτοι, (ε)τούτες, (ε)τούτα : this / ces, cette En . : Our uses to indicate that it is very close to us Fr. : Nous les utilisons pour indiquer ce qui est très proche de nous Eg : Μου αρέσει ετούτο το φουλάρι: I like that scarf
3	Sin. : Εκείνος, εκείνη, εκείνο : that / Celui-ci - Celle-ci  Plur. : Εκείνοι (m), εκείνες (f), εκείνα (n) : those / ceux- celles En : We use them to show what is far from us Fr : Nous les utilisons pour montrer ce qui est loin de nous Eg : Εκείνα πρέπει να μετακινηθούν : those need to be moved - εκείνο το βιβλίο : that book
4	Sin : Τέτοιος, τέτοια, τέτοιο : such / tel,  telle Plur : τέτοιοι (m), τέτοιες (f), τέτοια (n): such / tells, telles En : We use them to show the quality Fr : Nous les utilisons pour montrer la qualité Eg : Ο Κώστας δεν είναι τέτοιος άνθρωπος : Kostas is not such a man (lit. such a person)
5	Sin. : Τόσος, τόση, τόσο : so much, so many / tant de Plur. : τόσοι( m), τόσες (f), τόσα (n) : so many / tellement de En : it determines the quantity and is sometimes found with the particle "δα" Fr. : il determine la quantité et se trouve quelquefois avec la particule "δα" Eg : Τι τα θέλετε τόσα παιχνίδια; Why do you need so many toys?

Αυτός ο δάσκαλος φαίνεται πολύ αυστηρός, ενώ εκείνη η δασκάλα πολύ γλυκιά. Αυτή η κυρία περιμένει τη σειρά της. Αυτό το παιδί είναι πολύ καλός μαθητής. Εκείνο το φόρεμα που δοκίμασα μου άρεσε πολύ. Θα χρειαστώ αυτά τα εργαλεία. Έκανε τόσες προσπάθειες για να πετύχει. Τέτοιος τρόπος δεν επιτρέπεται.	This teacher seems very strict, while this teacher is very kind. This lady is waiting for her turn. This child is a very good student. I really liked this dress that I tried on. I will need these tools. He tried so hard to succeed. Such a way is not allowed
