  • Person 2*: Good morning. Yes, I can help you. Which market are you going to?
  • Person 1*: I am going to Kimironko Market.
  • Person 2*: OK. To get there, you need to take the bus. Go straight ahead until you reach the main road. At the intersection, turn left. At the next intersection, turn right. The market will be on your left.

  • The hospital - Ayo mu bitaro
  • The bank - Ayo mu mirima

Culture and Fun Facts

In Rwanda, it is common for people to give directions in relation to landmarks or notable places instead of using street names. They might say something like, "Turn left at the gas station and go straight ahead until you see the tall building on your right." This is because many street names in Rwanda are not commonly known or used.

Additionally, transportation in Rwanda varies depending on where you are in the country. In big cities like Kigali, you can find buses and taxis, while in rural areas, you might have to rely on cars or motorbikes.

Finally, Rwanda is known for its beautiful landscapes and scenery. If you have some extra time, consider taking a road trip to explore the different regions of the country. You might come across stunning mountain views, beautiful lakes, or vibrant markets.
