Subjunctive mood in English
There are 3 ways to express the subjunctive present in English.
The first case is the most formal.
Should + base form of the verb[edit | edit source]
e.g. "The police insisted that the car should be removed immediately."
Base form of the verb[edit | edit source]
e.g. "The police insisted that the car be removed immediately."
Present Simple of the verb[edit | edit source]
e.g. "The police insist that the car is removed immediately."
