Word Order in Armenian
The structure of a simple affirmative Armenian sentence is as follows: noun, main verb, auxiliary verb. Notice how this would sound in English:

However, in Armenian the word order may change. The the change of word order is accompanied with the change of the logical stress.
Consider the sentence below:
Armenian | English |
---|---|
Ես խոսում եմ։ | I am talking. |
Խոսում եմ ես։ | I am talking (not dancing). |
Ես եմ խոսում։ | I (and not someone else) am talking. |
OR
Armenian | English |
---|---|
Երեխան ծիծաղում է։ | The child is laughing. |
Ծիծաղում է երեխան։ | The child is laughing (not dancing). |
Երեխան է ծիծաղում։ | The child (and not someone else) is laughing. |
