In Macedonian, negation can be made simply by placing "Ne" before the main verb.

But sometimes a double negative is required. "Ne" is the most common negative.

  • Не можам да го направам ова. (I can't do this).
  • Тие немаат ништо да прават (they don't have anything to do – Double Negative).
  • Не ми се допаѓа тоа (I don't like it)

Sometimes the negative can be made with the auxiliary verb “нема" (don’t have) or with negative words like:

  • никој (nobody) or ништо (nothing).
