Introduction to Twi Personal Pronouns

In Twi, personal pronouns are words used to replace nouns to avoid repetition. These help to make sentences concise and clear. In this lesson, we will teach you the personal pronouns in Twi and how to use them in sentences.

Pronoun Types

There are two types of personal pronouns in Twi: subject pronouns and object pronouns.

  • Subject pronouns are used as the subject of a sentence or clause.
  • Object pronouns are used as the object of a sentence or clause.

For example, in the sentence "I love Twi." "I" is the subject pronoun and "Twi" is the object noun. However, in the sentence "Twi loves me." "Twi" is the subject and "me" is the object pronoun.

  • Ɛyɛ bɔ no. (He/She/It needs him/her/it)
  • Yɛn bɛn na yɛfrɛ no? (What are we telling him/her?)
  • Mo de wo yare. (They miss you.)
