French Vocabulary - Be Polite

In this lesson, we will learn how to be polite in French. We will learn the most important phrases and words you need to know to be polite in French.

Greetings

Greetings are a very important part of any language. In French, there are many different ways to greet someone. Here are some of the most common ones:

French Pronunciation English Translation
Bonjour bawn-zhoor Hello
Salut sah-loo Hi
Bonsoir bawn-swahr Good evening
Bonne journée bawn zhoor-nay Have a nice day

You can also use these phrases to say goodbye:
