Macedonian Grammar - Future Tense

Hi Macedonian learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn about the future tense in Macedonian. We will look at how to form the future tense, as well as some examples of its use.

Forming the Future Tense

The future tense in Macedonian is formed by adding the suffix -ќе to the verb stem. This suffix is added to all conjugations of the verb, regardless of the person or number.

For example, the verb дава (to give) has the following conjugations in the future tense:

Macedonian Pronunciation English Translation
давам da-vam I will give
даваш da-vash You will give
дава da-va He/She/It will give
даваме da-vame We will give
давате da-vate You (plural) will give
даваат da-vaat They will give

Examples

Here are some examples of the future tense in action:

Macedonian Pronunciation English Translation
Ќе придонесам Kje pri-do-ne-sam I will contribute
Ќе придонесеш Kje pri-do-ne-sesh You will contribute
Ќе придонесе Kje pri-do-ne-se He/She/It will contribute
Ќе придонесеме Kje pri-do-ne-se-me We will contribute
Ќе придонесете Kje pri-do-ne-se-te You (plural) will contribute
Ќе придонесат Kje pri-do-ne-sat They will contribute
