Borana-Arsi-Guji Oromo Grammar - Negation

In this lesson, we will learn about the negation in Borana-Arsi-Guji Oromo. Negation is an important part of any language and it is essential to understand how to use it correctly.

Negation is a way of expressing the opposite of something. In Borana-Arsi-Guji Oromo, there are two ways to express negation: using the negative particle maa or using the negative verb hina.

Negative Particle maa

The negative particle maa is used to negate a verb or an adjective. It is placed before the verb or adjective that is being negated.

Negative Verb hina

The negative verb hina is used to negate a noun or a pronoun. It is placed before the noun or pronoun that is being negated.
