There are 4 Hindi consonants which sounds very similar and create confusion

स श ष क्ष

First consonant स can be easily recogined because

of it's sound - Sa

Eg - Sagar, Silai, Saat, Vikas, Vilas,

These other 3 create confusion as these all sounds very similar

with a " sha" sound.

So while speaking there is no problem even if u interchnage the consonants

As all three sound same

But while writing in hindi, श (sha) is mostly used like

Shalgam, Shikar, Shimla etc...

ष is mostly used in very uncommon hindi words ( mostly Sanskrit derived)

Like

  • षड्यंत्र Shadyantra - conspiracy ( just memorize this one)
  • षड्दुर्ग
  • षट्‌कोण
  • षष्ठी
  • षट्‌कर्मा

These are very uncommon words even many native Hindi speakers don't know how to use

as they are mostly used in books of literature.

So a Hindi learner should not worry about theies consonants

The last consonant क्ष ao heve a a simil kind of story....

The only words that one needs to remember are

क्षमा ( Shama) means to forgive

क्षत्रिय ( shatriya) means a warrior ( mainly a member of warrior class)....

That's it...

I hope u like this lesson....
