If you're in a new town or city and you want to know where a place or building is, these are useful phrases for asking for directions. There are also phrases for giving directions to other people who ask you for help. Yön tarifi nasıl sorulur- How you can ask for directions -
"Excuse me. How do I get to (the railway station) please?" - Affedersiniz? tren istasyonuna nasıl gidebilirim?
"Excuse me. How do I get to (............................) please?" - Affedersiniz? ........................e/a nasıl gidebilirim?
"Excuse me. Where's the nearest (post office) please?" - Affedersiniz? En yakın polis karakolu nerede?
"Excuse me. Where's the nearest (.................) please?" - Affedersiniz? En yakın ...................... nerede?
"Excuse me. I'm looking for the Number 6 bus stop." - Affedersiniz? 6 numaralı otobüs durağını arıyorum ?
"Excuse me. I'm looking for ............................. stop." - Affedersiniz? ........................................nı / ni arıyorum ?
Yön Tarif etme - Giving directions
aranaa yerin ne kadar uzakta olduğunu belirtmek istersek...
"It's about five minutes from here." - Burdan yaklaşık 5 dakika mesafede
"It's about a ten-minute walk." - Yaklaşık 10 dakikalık yürüme mesafesinde
"It's easier if I can show you on the map…" - Size haritadan göstersem daha kolay olur
Belirgin Yön Tarifi - Specific instructions
"Turn left " - Sola Dön
"Turn right " - sağa dön
"Go straight on at the lights - trafik Işıklarından düz gidin
when you come to the crossroads." - kavşakağa geldiğinizde .........
"Go across the roundabout." - Döner kavşağı geçin.........
"Take the first turning / road / street on your left / right." - Karşınıza çıkan ilk (yol, sokak .....) tan sola/sağa dönün....
"You'll see ............... then - ......................yı göreceksiniz. sonra
You'll come to a (.............). Then …" - ............... ya varacaksınız. sonra
"Don't take the first road." - ilk yola girmeyin
"Go on for about (2 minutes / 100 metres)." - yaklaşık ( 2 dakika / 100 metre) gidin
Use prepositions of direction
Go past = bir yeri/ şeyi geç, arkanda kalsın
Go across = bir şeyin karşı tarafına geç
Go along = yola devam et
Go straight on = dümdüz git
Go up = giderken yukarı doğru git
Go down = giderkenaşağıyaı doğru git
Go through = bir şeyi geçip git . ( tüneli geçtikten sonra, sivastan çıktıktan sonra..)
It's in front of you = tam karşında / karşına çıkacak
It's opposite the ....... = ............. karşısında/ çaprazında
It's on the corner = tam köşede

"Excuse me. I'm looking for the post office." - Affedersiniz? Postaneyi arıyorum..
"OK. Go straight on, then turn left at the crossroads. It's about 100 metres on your left. - tamam. düz gidin,sonra kavşaktan sola dönün. yaklaşık 100 metre sonra tam solunuzda You can't miss it!" - görmemeniz imkansız.
"Thanks!" - Teşekkürler
"You're welcome." - Rica ederim
