The Bakhtiari (Persian: بختیاری‎‎) are a southwestern Iranian tribe and a subgroup of the Lurs. They speak the Bakhtiari dialect, a southwestern Iranian dialect, belonging to the Lurish language.

Bakhtiaris primarily inhabit Chahar Mahaal and Bakhtiari and eastern Khuzestan, Lorestan, Bushehr, and Isfahan. In Khuzestan, Bakhtiari tribes are concentrated primarily in the eastern part of the province.

A small percentage of Bakhtiari are still nomadic pastoralists, migrating between summer quarters (sardsīr or yaylāq) and winter quarters (garmsīr or qishlāq). Numerical estimates of their total population vary widely. That is for eel of bakhtiari not for all bakhtiari peoples.

Bakhtiari and Iranian-Arab peoples were first defenders of Iran in Iran - Iraq war.

Also, Bibi Maryam Bakhtiari is a famous Bakhtiari lady. She fought and stood in front of the Russian and British military strikes against Iran. we can't remember second "Sardar As-ad" (Sardar = General / Commander). 

Second Sardar as-ad: Ali Qoli Khan, Sardar As-Ad:

the 3rd son of Jaafar gholi Khan, was ilkhan (bakhatiari's tribe boss in Iran) , an Iranian revolutionary, a Thane of Bakhtiari Haft Lang tribe, and one of the primary figures of the Persian Constitutional Revolution.
