In French, the words in -al have their plural in -aux.
But there are some exceptions with a plural in -als.
There are 9 exceptions:
- Chacal = Chacals / {Jackal}
- Aval = Avals / {Downstream}
- Bal = Bals / {Bal}
- Carnaval = Carnavals / {Carnival}
- Corral = Corrals / {Corral}
- Récital = Récitals / {Recital}
- Régal = Régals / {Treat, Delight}
- Festival = Festivals / {Festival}
- Final =Finals / {Final}
