What are directional prepositions?
Directional prepositions in Bengali are a specific type of preposition that describes the direction of a subject or object. In Bengali grammar, directional prepositions are used to indicate the direction of an action or movement (for example, towards, from, into, onto, out of, off, along). These prepositions are usually placed after the verb in a sentence.

Usage of directional prepositions

1. The preposition usually follows the verb in the sentence. For example: - সে বাইরে গেল । (She went outside.) - আমি তোমাকে ভিতরে দেখতে চাই। (I want to see you inside.)
2. Some directional prepositions can be combined with other words to form a compound preposition. For example: - সে সব দিকে দেখছে । (He is looking in all directions.) - আমি সেখানকার পাশে থাকছি। (I am staying beside that place. )
3. The usage of directional prepositions may vary in questions and negative sentences. For example: - তুমি সিরিয়াসভাবে এসেছ না ? (You haven't come seriously?) - সে নিজেকে অনেক উত্তেজিত বলে গিয়েছিল। (He had said he was very excited. )

- সবাই বাইরে আসে । (Everyone comes outside.)
- তুমি অফিসে থেকে যাচ্ছো? (Are you going from the office?)

- সে ভাল উপায়ে হাঁটছে। তাকে সব দিকে দেখবে। (He is walking well, looking in all directions.)
