In this lesson, we will learn how to use the verb "have" in Tamil. We will look at the different forms of the verb and how to use it in sentences.

Introduction

The verb "have" is used to express possession or ownership. It is also used to express relationships between people. In Tamil, the verb "have" is conjugated differently depending on the person and the tense.

Conjugation

The verb "have" is conjugated differently depending on the person and the tense. Here are some examples of the verb "have" conjugated in the present tense:

Tamil Pronunciation English Translation
உங்கள் uṅkaḷ You have
நான் உள்ளே nāṉ uḷḷe I have
அவர் உள்ளே avar uḷḷe He/She has
நாம் உள்ளே nām uḷḷe We have
அவர்கள் உள்ளே avarkaḷ uḷḷe They have

Examples

Here are some examples of how to use the verb "have" in sentences:

  • Person 1: நான் ஒரு பிரியாணி உள்ளே (nāṉ oṟu piriyāṇi uḷḷe) (I have a dog)
  • Person 2: உங்கள் ஒரு பிரியாணி என்ன? (uṅkaḷ oṟu piriyāṇi enna?) (Do you have a dog?)
  • Person 1: ஆம், நான் ஒரு பிரியாணி உள்ளே (ām, nāṉ oṟu piriyāṇi uḷḷe) (Yes, I have a dog)
