Plural construction
To construct the plural of a noun, you have to identify the ending in the singular and then refer to this table:
Singular | Plural | Example |
-ka, -ga | -ki, -gi | noga - nogi (leg - legs) |
-ca, -ea, -ia, -ja, -la, -ża (-rza) | -ce, -ee, -ie, -je, -le, -that (s) | Rose - roses (rose - roses) |
- [Everything else] + a | - [Everything else] + y | torba - torby (bag - bags) |
Remember that rz sounds like ż
- burza - burze (storm - storms)
To form the plural of neutral nouns it is necessary to change the -o , the -e or the -um to -a
- window - windows
- museum - museums
The plurals of nouns ending in -ę are irregular and we will see them later ...
To pluralize masculine nouns, look at the last letter and they follow similar rules to feminine nouns.
