Today, we will learn the different meanings of the verb "DISTINGUER" or "SE DISTINGUER".


être récompensé (to be distinguished)

  • Cet enfant a été distingué pour son acte de courage..

This child was distinguished for act of courage.

apercevoir ou percevoir (perceive)

  • Au loin, on ne distinguait pas la masse imposante du Mont-Saint-Michel.

In the distance, you can't make out the imposing mass of Mont-Saint-Michel.

In motor racing, it is necessairy to distinguich the hill race and the rally race.
