Cultural Notes[edit | edit source]

Education is highly valued in Kurdish culture. The majority of Kurdish families consider it a priority to provide their children with the best education possible. Kurdish students were denied the right to receive education in their mother tongue for decades, resulting in a struggle to regain and maintain Kurdish-language education. Today, many Kurdish schools provide instruction in Kurdish, and universities teach various subjects in Kurdish.

Practice and Exercises[edit | edit source]

To improve your Central Kurdish Vocabulary, you can also use the Polyglot Club website. Find native speakers and ask them any questions!

Now, complete the following sentences using the correct vocabulary related to education:

1. The majority of Kurdish families consider education a _________. 2. Kurdish students were denied the right to receive education in their _________ for decades. 3.
