In this lesson, we will learn how to give your opinion in Wolof. We will look at the different ways to express your opinion and how to use them in a sentence. We will also look at some examples of how to use these expressions in everyday conversations. So let's get started!

Expressing Your Opinion

When expressing your opinion in Wolof, there are several different ways to do so. Here are some of the most common expressions:

Wolof ! Pronunciation ! English Translation
Ndax n-dah I think
Nga def n-gah dehf I believe
Nga xamul n-gah hah-mool I guess
Nga bëgg n-gah behg I suppose
Nga jël n-gah jel I feel

These expressions can be used to express your opinion on any topic. For example, if you want to express your opinion about a movie you just watched, you could say:

Ndax mbirum bi muy jàngu. (I think the movie was very good.)

You can also use these expressions to ask for someone else's opinion. For example, if you want to know what someone thinks about a certain topic, you could say:

Nga def lépp ci mbirum bi? (What do you believe about the movie?)
