Preamble[edit | edit source]
In the Spanish like other languages it's important to know the sentence's structure to be able to write, in the Spanish there is special form that is called "Verboide", which I will share with you today because I think it's important to know to get a good verb conjugation in the sentence.
Definition of Verboide[edit | edit source]
These terms can't be conjugated alone and other words are necessary, these verbs don't have gender, number, time or mode. This a easy way to learn Spanish! You just need to learn some special words (Tenses). Besides they have acquired another function as a noun in the infinitive form, as a adjective in the participle form and as a adverb in the gerund.
Examples[edit | edit source]
This is a usual mistake with those who aren't familiar with the Spanish grouping, they omit the Verboide form (Va a comer) [Go to eat] and just use the infinitive form (Comer) [Eat].
This is the correct way to group these kinds of words within a sentence in Spanish as a verboid.
Kinds of Verboides[edit | edit source]
Infinitivo (Infinitive)[edit | edit source]
Words ending inː Ar, Er, Ir. Exampleː Caminar (To Walk), Correr (To Run), Sentir (To Feel).
- Me gusta caminar por la tarde. (I like to walk in the afternoon).
- Vamos a correr en el parque. (We go to run in the park).
- Vas a sentir frío. (You will feel cold).
Gerundio (Gerund)[edit | edit source]
Words ending inː Ando, Iendo, Yendo.
"Ar" ending pass to be "Ando"
"Er" and "Ir" endings pass to be "Iendo" or "Yendo"
Exampleː Caminando (Caminar) [To Walk], Corriendo (Correr) [To Run], Cayendo (Caer) [To Fall]
- Estoy caminando por la playa. (I am walking in the beach).
- Hemos estado corriendo ayer. (We have been running yesterday).
- Estaba cayendo en una trampa. (I was falling in a trap).
Participio (Participle)[edit | edit source]
Words ending inː ado, ido.
"Ar" pass to be "Ado"
"Er" and "Ir" pass to be "Ido"
Exampleː Amado (Amar) [To Love], Dormido (Dormir) [To sleep]
- La he amado. (I have loved her).
- Hemos dormido. (We have slept).
