Words and Expressions Latin

Many speakers may not realize that the words are in fact taken verbatim, from both ancient languages: Latin and Greek.

Latin, in particular, has been extremely influential not only on the romance languages, such as French, but also on today’s English.

It may come as a surprise to learn that English speakers use common Latin phrases every day, most recognizably in the sciences.

Below are of the most common Latin phrases we use in the some languages, including Greek

La plupart du temps, on ne se rend pas compte que de nombreux mots français sont en fait repris, textuellement, des deux langues anciennes : Latin and Grec.

Le latin, en particulier, a été extrêmement influent non seulement sur les langues romanes, telles que le français, mais aussi sur l’anglais d’aujourd’hui.

Il peut-être surprenant d'apprendre que les anglophones utilisent des phrases latines courantes tous les jours, surtout dans les sciences. 

Vous trouverez ci-dessous les phrases latines les plus courantes que nous utilisons dans certaines langues, y compris le Grec.
