English

'Paronyms' are words that are very similar because of their spelling.

However, even though two words have a single letter that differs, they have a completely different meaning.

Many times these words stand out because they are stressed in a different syllable.

In this case, we are talking about "tonic paronyms".

• 'Be careful not to confuse homonyms and paronyms' .
• 'Always check your spelling'

αµυγδαλιές (το δέντρο) / almond tree	αµυγδαλές (ο αδένας) / the tonsils (the gland)
αχόρταγος (λαίµαργος) / the greedy	αχόρταστος (αυτός που δε χόρτασε ακόµη) / who eats and drinks without excess.
γένεση (δημιουργία) / Genesis (creation)	γέννηση (ο τοκετός) / birth (childbirth)
Γέρνω / incliner	Γερνώ / to get old
γέρος (ηλικιωμένος) / old	γερός (δυνατός) / the strong
εκατόµβη (πολλά θύµατα) / hecatomb	κατακόµβη (υπόγειο νεκροταφείο) / the catacomb (underground cemetery)
ηµιτόνιο (στη µουσική) / Demi-tone (in music)	ηµίτονο (στα µαθηµατικά) / semitone in math
Θόλος / the dome	Θολός / the blur
οδύνη (ψυχικός πόνος) / pain (mental pain)	ωδίνες (οι πόνοι της γέννας) / feces (birth pain)
παίρνω (κάτι) / take	περνώ (το δρόµο) / to cross (the street)
πρότυπο (υπόδειγµα) / the model (model)	πρωτότυπο (όχι αντίγραφο) / the prototype
σήραγγα (το τούνελ) / the tunnel	σύριγγα (το όργανο για την ένεση) / the injection
σχολείο / school	σχόλιο / the comment
σφήκα (το έντοµο) / the wasp	σφίγγα (µυθολογικό τέρας) / Sphinx (mythological monster)
τεχνικός (σε σχέση µε µια τέχνη) / technician-craftsman	ο τεχνητός (αυτός που δεν είναι φυσικός) / the artificial (the unnatural)
πίνω (drinking)	πεινώ (hungry)

Les paronymes sont des mots qui se ressemblent beaucoup du fait de leur orthographe.

Cependant, même si deux mots ont une seule lettre qui diffère, ils ont un sens complètement différent.

Plusieurs fois, ces mots se démarquent car ils sont accentués  dans une syllabe différente.

Dans ce cas, nous parlons des " paronymes toniques ".

• Attention à ne pas confondre les homonyme et les paronymes.
• Vérifiez toujours l'orthographe

αµυγδαλιές (το δέντρο) / amandes (l'arbre)	αµυγδαλές (ο αδένας) / les amygdales (la glande)
αχόρταγος (λαίµαργος) / le gourmand	αχόρταστος (αυτός που δε χόρτασε ακόµη)/ qui mange et boit sans excès.
γένεση (δηµιουργία) / la Genèse (création)	γέννηση (ο τοκετός) / la naissance (accouchement)
Γέρνω / incliner	Γερνώ / vieillir
γέρος (ηλικιωµένος) / vieux	γερός (δυνατός) / le fort
εκατόµβη (πολλά θύµατα) / hécatombe	κατακόµβη (υπόγειο νεκροταφείο) / la catacombe (cimetière souterrain)

οδύνη (ψυχικός πόνος) / douleur (douleur mentale)	ωδίνες (οι πόνοι της γέννας) / matières fécales (douleurs à la naissance)
παίρνω (κάτι) / prendre qqc	περνώ (το δρόµο) / traverser (la rue)
πρότυπο (υπόδειγµα) / le modèle (modèle)	πρωτότυπο (όχι αντίγραφο) / le prototype
σήραγγα (το τούνελ) / le tunnel	σύριγγα (το όργανο για την ένεση) / l’ injection
σχολείο / l’école	σχόλιο / le commentaire
σφήκα ( το έντοµο) / la guêpe	σφίγγα (µυθολογικό τέρας) / Sphinx (monstre mythologique)
τεχνικός (σε σχέση µε µια τέχνη) / technicien- artisan	ο τεχνητός (αυτός που δεν είναι φυσικός) / l'artificiel (le non naturel)
πίνω : boire	πεινώ : avoir faim
