Personal Pronouns in Armenian

In Armenian not only nouns, but also pronouns and verbs can be put into different cases. We already know the personal pronouns։ ես, դու, նա, մենք, դուք, նրանք. As an example lets take the personal pronoun “ես”to see how it changes in the seven cases which we are already familiar with.


Case  Example 
Nominative  I am Zaven.  Ես Զավենն եմ։ 
Genitive  My name is Zaven  Իմ անունը Զավեն է։ 
Dative  You give me the cup.  Դու բաժակը տալիս ես ինձ։ 
Accusative  You know me.  Դու գիտես ինձ։ 
Ablative  Are you getting sick of me?  Դու ձանձրանու՞մ ես ինձանից։ 
Instrumental  Are you interested in me?  Դու հետաքրքրվա՞ծ ես ինձանով։ 
Locative  In me, there is hope.  Ինձանում հույս կա։
