Hi Central Kurdish learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn how to use the verb "be" in Central Kurdish. We will look at the different forms of the verb and how to use them in sentences. We will also look at some examples of how to use the verb in context.

The verb "be" is used to express a state or condition. In Central Kurdish, it is conjugated differently depending on the subject of the sentence. The verb "be" is conjugated as follows:

Person Singular Plural
I meyam (مێیام) meyim (مێییم)
You tu (تو) shim (شیم)
He/She/It ew (ئێو) ewin (ئێوین)
We em (ئێم) emin (ئێمین)
You (plural) shum (شووم) shumin (شوومین)
They ew (ئێو) ewin (ئێوین)

The verb "be" is used in many different ways in Central Kurdish. Here are some examples of how to use the verb in sentences:

  • Meyam kurd (مێیام کورد): I am Kurdish.
  • Tu zanyar (تو زانیار): You are a student.
  • Ew karbar (ئێو کاربار): He/She/It is a worker.
  • Em kes (ئێم کەس): We are people.
  • Shum xwendkar (شووم خوێندکار): You (plural) are readers.

Dialogue:

  • Person 1: Tu karbarî? (تو کارباری؟) (Are you a worker?)
  • Person 2: Na, meyam zanyar. (نه، مێیام زانیار.) (No, I am a student.)
