In this lesson, we will learn about the gender rules in Kirghiz.

Gender is an important part of Kirghiz grammar. It is used to determine the form of nouns, adjectives, and pronouns. In Kirghiz, there are two genders: masculine and feminine.

Rules

The rules for determining the gender of a noun in Kirghiz are as follows:

  • Masculine nouns usually end in a consonant.
  • Feminine nouns usually end in a vowel.
