  • The Zarma language is spoken in: Niger

Zarma is one of the main languages of the Songhai Empire with 2 million speakers. It is spoken in Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Mali, Sudan, Benin and Ghana. Songhaï is a West African language spoken in the Niger valley from Djenné in Mali to the Baribas countries in northern Benin. It was spoken by a large population which played a considerable role in the history of Africa.
