Let's start with numbers 1-5. The numbers are listed below in Tosk Albanian along with transliteration and English translation:

Here are some examples on how to use these numbers in context:

Dialogue:

  • Person 1: Unë kam një mace. ([I have one cat.])
  • Person 2: Unë kam dy qen. ([I have two dogs.])

Did you notice that the noun "cat" and "dog" are in the indefinite form? In Albanian, we use the indefinite noun form after the number one "një".
