  • The Pokomo language is spoken in: Kenya

Pokomo is a Bantu language spoken mainly along the East African coast near the Tana River in Tana River Country by the Pokomo people of Kenya. The language is derived from the "Kingozi" language, which is a precursor to Kiswahili. There is a strong lexical similarity with other languages like Mvita, Amu, Mrima, Kigitiama, Chidigo or Bajun.
