Mesopotamian Arabic Grammar - Conditional Mood

Hi Mesopotamian Arabic learners! 😊
In today's lesson, we will be discussing the conditional mood in Mesopotamian Arabic. The conditional mood is used to express a hypothetical situation or an event that may or may not happen in the future. It is also used to express wishes and desires.

The conditional mood is formed by using the verb "to be" (أنا) followed by the past tense of the verb. For example, if you wanted to say "I would go", you would say "أنا ذهبت".

  • If I had money, I would buy a car. - لو كان لي مال، أنا شرات سيارة.
  • If I were rich, I would travel the world. - لو كنت غنيا، أنا سافرت العالم.
  • If I had more time, I would learn a new language. - لو كان لي وقت أكثر، أنا تعلمت لغة جديدة.
