What is the Conditional Mood?[edit | edit source]

The conditional mood is used to express a hypothetical situation or an event that could happen in the future. It is used to express possibilities, wishes, and requests.

How to Form Sentences in the Conditional Mood[edit | edit source]

The conditional mood is formed by using the verb "esser" (to be) in the present tense followed by the infinitive of the main verb.

For example:

  • Si io essera un professor, io ensenia interlingua. (If I were a teacher, I would teach Interlingua.)
  • Si tu comprende interlingua, tu parla con le mundo. (If you understand Interlingua, you can speak with the world.)

Using the Conditional Mood in Everyday Conversations[edit | edit source]

The conditional mood can be used in everyday conversations to express wishes, requests, and possibilities.

For example:

  • Si tu ha un problema, io pote adjuta te. (If you have a problem, I can help you.)
  • Si tu vole apprender interlingua, io pote ensenia te. (If you want to learn Interlingua, I can teach you.)
  • Si tu ha un question, io pote responde lo. (If you have a question, I can answer it.)

Conclusion[edit | edit source]

We have now looked at how to form sentences in the conditional mood and how to use them in everyday conversations. With this knowledge, you should now be able to use the conditional mood in your Interlingua conversations.
