Cultural and Interesting Facts[edit | edit source]

Did you know that the Faroe Islands' education system is free and compulsory for all children between the ages of 7 and 16? Faroese children start school at 7 years old and finish at 16 years old. If they wish to continue their studies, they may attend a high school, vocational school, or university.

The Faroese government provides free textbooks and school supplies for students to use. Additionally, there are special programs designed to provide extra help for students who are struggling academically.

There are also opportunities for Faroese students to study abroad, with exchange programs through universities, and organizations such as the Erasmus Programme and the Nordic Council.
