Avaric Grammar - Adjectives

Hi Avaric learners! 😊
In today's lesson, we will be discussing Avaric adjectives. Adjectives are words that describe or modify nouns and pronouns. They can be used to give more information about the noun or pronoun they are modifying. In Avaric, adjectives have a specific set of rules that must be followed in order to use them correctly.

Adjective Placement[edit | edit source]

In Avaric, adjectives usually come before the noun they are modifying. For example:

  • The small house (small is the adjective)
  • The red car (red is the adjective)

However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, when using certain adverbs, the adjective may come after the noun. For example:

  • The house is small (small is the adjective)
  • The car is red (red is the adjective)

Adjective Agreement[edit | edit source]

In Avaric, adjectives must agree with the noun they are modifying in gender and number. This means that the adjective must match the gender and number of the noun it is describing. For example:

  • The small house (house is feminine singular, so small is also feminine singular)
  • The small houses (houses is feminine plural, so small is also feminine plural)

Adjective Order[edit | edit source]

When using multiple adjectives to describe a noun, the order of the adjectives is important. In Avaric, adjectives usually follow a specific order. The order is as follows:

1. Quantity or number 2. Quality or opinion 3. Size 4. Age 5. Shape 6. Color 7. Origin 8. Material 9. Purpose

For example:

  • Two old round wooden tables (quantity, age, shape, material)
  • A large green Italian vase (size, color, origin, purpose)
