Borrow household items from friends and neighbors in Ethiopia

It is common to borrow household items from friends and neighbors. Note that it is expected to return items quickly.

• Saying ‘እግዜር ይስጥልኝ ïgzer yïst’ïlliň’ or ‘አመሰግናለሁ amäsägïnalähu’ is polite.

To show respect when taking and giving, take/give the item with right hand while supporting your right forearm with the left hand, or use both hands to give/receive the item.
