Join us for the return of the World Languages Café—now in-person!

The World Languages Café offers a welcoming space to practice a language you already know or to explore one you’re currently learning. Engage in enriching conversations, connect with fellow culture enthusiasts, enhance your language skills through dialogue, and gather handy phrases for your travels. Rediscover the joys of your childhood language in a friendly environment!

This vibrant community meets monthly throughout the year, specifically on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Howard County Library’s Miller Branch. Choose your preferred language table, where a native speaker will guide discussions and activities. Languages available include: American Sign Language, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Hindi, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

Please note that children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages, and feel free to share cultural treats with your table!
