ABOUT THE EVENT

After a hiatus last year, we are thrilled to bring back our Language Exchange Happy Hour, which used to attract hundreds of people every week. With DC opening up, we can now safely organize this rooftop party once again. It's the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

During this unprecedented time of lockdowns and confinements, we've missed staying in touch with friends and meeting new people. That's why we've included a "FRIENDING" segment in our event. We all share a common love for languages, diverse cultures, international experiences, and unique accents.

Here's how it works: We will assign tables for each represented language and direct attendees to their respective tables. All languages are welcome, but we cannot guarantee a partner in every language you'd like to exchange. After the formal session, we will rotate attendees from table to table, ensuring everyone gets to meet each other. During this session, we will use English as the Lingua Franca, allowing you to meet potential friends, acquaintances, buddies, partners-in-crime, or maybe even more! It's an ideal event for both newcomers and long-time residents of the city.

TICKET PRICE: We have limited free tickets available, so make sure to grab yours early. After the free tickets are claimed, there will be a cover charge.

Rules to abide:

  1. You must be 21 or older to attend. Don't forget to bring your ID.

  2. Be respectful to others and give everyone a chance to interact with different people.

  3. We are all native speakers of at least one or two languages, so be willing to help others and accommodate them as much as possible.

  4. If you don't speak the language someone is looking to practice, please leave them alone and find someone else to chat with.

  5. Rude or aggressive behavior will lead to removal from the group at the organizer's discretion.

  6. This is a face-to-face language exchange event. Please do not try to arrange online meetings using the comment box or direct messages.

  7. Avoid writing in the comment box as it sends notifications to all attendees. If you have any questions, message the organizers directly.

  8. We have a strict policy against solicitation. The event is not a platform for personal promotion or agendas. If you are interested in promoting, sponsoring, or collaborating, contact us at vincentvincent profile picture.

  9. Upon arrival, our team will greet you and guide you to your designated group.

  10. Don't hesitate to showcase your local languages. We have diplomats assigned to various countries who would love to practice with you.

DOUBLE MASK IS THE NEW MASK! THE VIRUS IS STILL AROUND, WITH DIFFERENT VARIANTS, SO LET'S NOT LOWER OUR GUARD, EVEN IF WE ARE VACCINATED.

Refund & Ticket Resell Policy

All sales are final. We offer a full refund only if the event is canceled. In case of rescheduling, we will notify ticket holders via email. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, you must inform us within 2 calendar days of receiving the update email to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after this time period.
