Join us for an exciting in-person event at the World Languages Café!

The World Languages Café is the perfect place to practice a language you know or are learning, in a friendly and welcoming environment. Immerse yourself in different cultures, meet new people, enhance your fluency through conversation and listening, and even learn useful phrases for your future travels. Whether you want to brush up on a childhood language or explore a new one, this event is for you!

Our World Language Cafés take place once a month throughout the year. We gather on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7-9pm at the 50+ Center of the East Columbia Library (6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia). You can choose to join the conversation table of your choice, facilitated by a native speaker. We offer a wide range of languages, including American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese - Mandarin, Chinese - Cantonese, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Hindi, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

Please note that children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages, and if you'd like, you can also bring treats from your culture to share with your table.
