Join us at the World Languages Café, where language enthusiasts gather to converse and immerse themselves in different cultures! After a long wait, we are excited to announce that our event is now happening in person!

Whether you're a fluent speaker or just starting to learn, the World Languages Café offers a friendly atmosphere for you to practice and enhance your language skills. It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share the same passion for languages and cultures. Engage in conversations, improve your fluency through speaking and listening, and even learn useful phrases for your future travels. You can also reconnect with your childhood language and rediscover its beauty.

Our monthly World Language Cafés take place year-round, specifically on the second Thursdays of each month from 7-9pm. We are thrilled to hold this event at the Howard County Library Miller Branch. Upon arrival, you can choose the language table you wish to join. Each table is hosted by a native speaker who will facilitate the conversation. We offer a wide range of languages to choose from, including American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese - Mandarin, Chinese - Cantonese, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Hindi, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

Please note that children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult. We also encourage participants to bring food and beverages, as well as treats from their own culture to share with their table.
