ABOUT THE EVENT

After a hiatus of six months due to COVID-19, we are excited to announce the return of our in-person language exchange events. Join us as we get back on track and connect with fellow language enthusiasts.

HOW IT WORKS: Attendees will be assigned to tables based on the language they wish to practice. While we welcome all languages, we cannot guarantee a partner for every specific language. Space is limited, so make sure to purchase your tickets in advance.

Your ticket includes a welcome drink of your choice, which can be a house wine, beer, or a rail drink.

In light of the impact the pandemic has had on the bars and restaurant industry, we aim to contribute to their recovery. A portion of the funds raised from this event will go towards supporting the industry. Let's also show our appreciation to the bartenders by being generous.

As we are currently operating at 50% capacity, we encourage you to drink for two and make the most of the event.

According to the guidelines set by the DC Government, this event is a sit-down dining experience with a maximum of six people per table. With limited space available, we recommend securing your tickets soon.

Here are the rules to abide by:

  1. This event is strictly for individuals aged 21 and above. Please ensure you bring your ID.

  2. Respect your conversation partners and give everyone a chance to engage with others.

  3. As native speakers, let's be willing to help others and accommodate their language learning needs as much as possible.

  4. If you do not speak the language your conversation partner requires, please give them the opportunity to connect with someone else.

  5. Rude or aggressive behavior will result in the removal of the offending member from the group, at the organizers' discretion.

  6. This is a face-to-face language exchange event, so please refrain from arranging online meetings using the comment box or direct messages.

  7. To avoid sending unnecessary notifications to all attendees, please refrain from writing questions or comments in the comment box. Instead, send a message directly to the organizers if you have any inquiries.

  8. We have a zero-tolerance policy for solicitation. No one is allowed to promote, sponsor, or pursue personal agendas at the event. If you are interested in collaborating or have sponsorship opportunities, please contact us at vincentvincent profile picture.

  9. Upon arrival, our team will greet you and guide you to your respective language group.

  10. Do not hesitate to practice your local languages. We have diplomats assigned to different countries who would love to engage in conversation and help you practice.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have made certain adjustments for this event:

  • We will strictly adhere to all CDC, state, and local guidelines.

  • The occupancy will never exceed 50% to maintain a safe environment.

  • Temperature checks will be conducted for staff and patrons before entering the venue.

  • All attendees must wear masks throughout the event. Failure to comply will result in denial of entry, and no refunds will be given.

  • We will ensure thorough cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces during the event. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Refund & Ticket Resell

All ticket sales are final. Full refunds will only be issued if the event is canceled. In the event of rescheduling, an email will be sent to those who RSVPed 'YES' with further instructions. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, you may request a full refund within 2 calendar days of receiving the update email. No refunds will be given after this time.

However, if you are unable to attend, you have the option to sell your ticket to someone else. Feel free to post in the comment box of the event that you have a ticket for sale. Coordinate the payment directly with the buyer and request that they send a message to the organizers, providing the full name of the person taking your spot. Please notify us at least two hours before the RSVP close time on the day of the event.
