Join us for a unique and exciting event titled "Visiting Suzuki Farm and Terrapin Nature Park at Chesapeake Bay- 美味しい日本食の源を訪ねて" on Saturday, September 16, 2023, starting at 8:00 AM.

This event is a collaboration with other Japanese groups, so we anticipate a total of more than 12 participants.

We will begin our day by carpooling to Suzuki Farm, a farm located on the state border of Delaware and Maryland's East Peninsula. Our main focus at the farm will be to explore and purchase fresh Japanese vegetables. Suzuki Farm has kindly granted us permission to visit their farm area, providing us with an opportunity to learn about the essential ingredients that make Japanese cuisine so delicious. We will depart from our carpool location promptly at 8:00 AM and plan to arrive at Suzuki Farm before 11:00 AM.

On our way back, we will make a stop at Terrapin Nature Park, located at Chesapeake Bay. Here, we will enjoy a leisurely hike along a 2.8-mile flat trail, which should take approximately one hour to complete.

To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment during the event, please adhere to the following rules:

  • Exercise caution and take personal responsibility for your safety.
  • Engage in respectful behavior and refrain from any actions that may disrupt or inconvenience the farm.
  • Wear appropriate attire for outdoor activities, including long pants and sturdy, comfortable shoes (sandals, heels, shorts, and tank tops are not permitted).
  • Be sure to make a purchase at the farm, such as vegetables, with a minimum value of $20.
  • As this is a carpooling event covering a distance of over 120 miles, please contribute towards gas expenses.
  • If you plan to participate in the hike, remember to bring sufficient water and sunscreen.

For those in need of transportation, carpooling options are available. If you require a ride, please send a message, and we will do our best to connect you with a driver. Similarly, if you can offer a carpool or are seeking carpool members, please message us with your location and the number of available seats.

Metro and park and ride pickups will be available at 8:00 AM. We are currently seeking 3 to 5 drivers, so if you are able to drive, please offer your assistance. The following carpool options are available:
