Join us for an exciting in-person event - the World Languages Café!

The World Languages Café provides a unique opportunity to practice a language you already know or one you are currently learning. Immerse yourself in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where you can meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for languages and cultures. Enhance your fluency through engaging conversations, gain useful travel phrases, and even rediscover languages from your childhood.

Our World Language Cafés are held once a month, all year round. Join us on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7-9pm at the 50+ Center of the East Columbia Library (6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia). Choose a language table that suits your interests, as each table is hosted by a native speaker who will facilitate conversations. Our language options include American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese - Mandarin, Chinese - Cantonese, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Farsi, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Hindi, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

We welcome participants of all ages; however, children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages, and if you'd like, you can share treats from your culture with your tablemates.
