- We encourage you to arrive on time. The event will commence with casual socializing until everyone is present. The debate is set to start at 7:30 PM and will last approximately 60-90 minutes, followed by additional mingling.
- Our bar offers a variety of refreshments including tea, milkshakes, drinks, pizza, hotdogs, and snacks (including plant-based options).

TOPIC OF DISCUSSION: Diversity and Inclusion Programs

DEBATE FORMAT
We will use either a turn-based debate (Model United Nations style) or small group discussions, depending on attendance that evening. Typically, the format includes:
- Introductions and initial thoughts (~15 minutes)
- Breakout groups per question (~25 minutes)
- Final round of opinions (~20 minutes).

EVENT GUIDELINES (Rules & Expectations)
- Focus on debating the topic, not the individuals involved—no personal attacks!
- Kindly refrain from phone use, interruptions, and bystanding.
- Always adhere to the instructions and guidelines provided by the moderator/host.

WHAT IS WORLD CITIZENS?
We are among London’s longest-standing and largest communities, established in 2012. We organize social events, cultural activities, and thought-provoking discussions to promote meaningful exchanges and learning among global professionals in London.

EVENT LOCATION DETAILS
What: Structured debate session followed by networking/socializing
When: Tuesday, starting at 7:00 PM until late, with the debate commencing after 7:30 PM to allow for more social time
Where: Curzon Aldgate (bar area), 2 Canter Way, E1 8PS
Nearest stations: Aldgate East, Aldgate, Tower Hill/Gateway
Cost: Attendees are responsible for their own meals and drinks
Hosts: Our team of hosts rotates, and each event can feature different hosts. Regular members are also available to assist you with any basic inquiries.

NOTE: Like most guests, our volunteer hosts also join us after work and may arrive after the event starts. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated! Feel free to begin socializing and/or enjoy refreshments—this is the essence of our events. Our regular members are on hand to help you with any basic matters.
