This week's theme: Ethics of Digital Nomadism
Overview: As the digital nomad lifestyle gains popularity, it faces criticism for resembling a form of "temporary colonization," particularly in economically disadvantaged regions. Local communities often express concerns about resource strain, social segregation, and gentrification. Additionally, parallels have been drawn between this phenomenon and "volun-tourism," raising questions about the authenticity of cultural representation. Are these critiques justified? What strategies can we employ to practice more ethical remote work abroad?
