Join us on an unforgettable adventure to Leiden, the Netherlands! Immerse yourself in the rich history, culture, and picturesque scenery of this beautiful city. Explore the renowned Naturalis Museum, the ancient Old Castle (Burcht van Leiden), and the fascinating Windmill Museum (Molen de Valk). Additionally, enjoy leisurely walks along the charming canals and through the city center. This one-day trip offers the perfect opportunity to discover and capture the essence of Leiden.

Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 9:15 AM to 6:00 PM

WHERE

Meet at Amsterdam Central Station - IJhal, next to Starbucks. The meeting point is marked with an orange square on the map, where you'll find Dana. (See map below)

Tickets & AIC Card:

• Train ticket + Museum ticket: €42 (€40 with AIC CARD. Get your AIC Card here)
• Tickets without transport: €5 (FREE with AIC CARD). In this case, you will arrange your own train and museum tickets if you have a Museum Card or NS subscription.
• Tickets do not include local transport
• Tickets are non-refundable
• Tickets are NOT transferable

How it Works

Please arrive promptly at 9:15 AM, as we have a train to catch!
Transportation: NS Train, 2nd class from Amsterdam Central to Leiden
Once we arrive, we will visit the Naturalis Biodiversity Center, a prestigious national museum of natural history and a leading biodiversity research center. Awarded the European Museum of the Year 2021, this museum boasts a remarkable collection of around 42 million specimens, making it one of the world's largest natural history collections. After the museum visit, we will enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the heart of Leiden. Alternatively, you may bring your own lunch or purchase something else as per your preference. Following lunch, we will embark on a guided walk through the city center, exploring other attractions such as the Old Castle (Burcht van Leiden) and the Windmill Museum (Molen de Valk).

The trip is limited to 20 participants.

Reservations will close on October 20th at 1:00 PM

AIC will purchase train tickets in advance, and each ticket is individual. Please ensure you bring valid photo identification (passport, identity card, or driving license) as the controller will verify the correspondence between the ticket and your ID.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE BOOK YOUR TICKET USING YOUR REAL NAME AND CHECK YOUR AIC ACCOUNT BEFORE MAKING THE RESERVATION. We will create a Whatsapp group for the participants to stay connected. Once we receive your reservation, we will send you an invitation link to join the group.
