Join me for an exciting hiking adventure at Xianji Rock on Xinglong Mountain trail! It's a free event and everyone is welcome to join. We will start at 2:30 PM, so please make sure to arrive on time. I won't be able to wait for latecomers. In case of emergencies or cancellations, please inform me before 12:00 AM on the event day. After that time, I won't be checking Meetup messages. As we ascend about 100 meters above the wooden pavilion, we'll come across ancestral rocks and massive bare rock formations. These bare rocks hold imprints of human footsteps, accompanied by fascinating legends. One popular legend tells the story of Lu Dongbin, who used this stone to defeat a troublesome toad, turning it into a rock. This is now known as Toad Hill. Come and witness this incredible natural wonder!

In the past, this area was covered with Acacia trees, which were used for charcoal production. However, today you can find a diverse range of plants, including ferns, vines, and lacquer trees. Keep an eye out for conservation animals such as the emerald tree frog and Taipei tree frog. You might also spot birds like the tree magpie, red-billed blackbirds, and collarbirds. Don't forget to look for red squirrels and wild dogs too. During spring and summer, you'll be treated to the sight of numerous butterfly species.
