vincentNovember 2007 Terry, Another tip : If you decide one day to change place, you have to tell it enough time in advance so everybody can know - like 2 weeks in advance. You update the meeting here on the website saying that the address will change in two weeks and also during 2 fridays at the KFC, you tell participants about the new coming location. V

SuperakaliNovember 2007 I agree with you Andrea. However, we still do not have a large pool of regular members. It would be difficult to book a cafe. In addition, some members do not check this site regularly, it would be difficult to inform them of the change. Anyway, we will move once we get a large pool of regular members. |
patNovember 2007 Terrific, Terry! Already more than 30 participants, this is SOME achievement! We miss you here, but we are with you in spirit and working towards the same goal =) Good idea, Andrea! Finding an appropriate location is key to the success of your gatherings. For more tips about the *million-dollar venue*, you need: Easy and quick access for the majority of participants! It is fair to say that the more central the venue, the easier for most participants to join in, and the longer they can stay. Try to find a place that already attracts foreigners. This will be an additional incentive for Members to take part. The best setting for a Polyglot Meeting is a quiet and comfortable place such as a cafe, a pub, a bar, a restaurant, or a park (if the weather permits). Ensure that the participants regularly and freely switch partners. For this purpose, the room should be large enough, and the furniture (tables and chairs) easy to shift. Ideally, the participants would be standing through the most part of the Meeting. This favors spontaneous interactions, and blood circulation too -) To maximize your chances of success, try to avoid noisy (no loud music) or busy locations. pat Polyglot Administrator |
twchouetteNovember 2007 Hello, everyone This is Andrea and I was in KFC for the last meeting, I had a great time but to be honest, KFC is not a very good choice, it's too noisy. we barley could hear each other and we almost had to shout...There are many nice places in that area, maybe we can find a better place ?
