Join us on a breathtaking excursion to the Costa Vermella (Côte Vermeille) in the northern Catalan region of Rosselló, France. Experience the charm of Cotlliure (Colliure) and enjoy a scenic hike along the coastal path connecting Argelers to Cotlliure (7km).

From Cervère to the north of Argeles-sur-Mer, the reddish mountain foothills abruptly meet the sea, shaping the Costa Vermella (Cöte Vermeille), a beautiful coastal strip filled with coves, picturesque villages, terraced vineyards, ancient fortresses, and rich history. Despite the diminishing presence of Catalan language, the strong Catalan identity still thrives in these lands.

1- Hike from Argelers-sur-Mer to Cotlliure (optional)
Enjoy a scenic coastal route along the path that connects Argelers to Cotlliure.

• Total ascent: 75 meters
• Duration: 2-3 hours
• Difficulty: easy to moderate

✔︎ The hike from Argelers to Cotlliure is optional. If you prefer not to walk, you can take the coach to Cotlliure and meet the group there.

2- Guided Tour in Cotlliure
Cotlliure, the most picturesque town in this coastal stretch, boasts colorful houses, a stunning medieval castle (former residence of the kings of Mallorca), a beautiful beach, narrow streets, a harbor filled with vibrant wooden boats, and numerous art galleries. As the birthplace of Fauvism, Cotlliure has attracted painters for over a century, including renowned artists like Matisse, Derain, and Hanicotte. Notable figures like poet Antonio Machado and novelist Patrick O’Brian rest eternally in Cotlliure.

Itinerary
– 8:00 AM: Meet at Plaça Universitat (UB entrance) for our private coach departure. Breakfast stop during the journey.
– 10:30 AM: Arrival in Argelers and start of the hike
– 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Hike from Argelers to Cotlliure
– 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Free time for lunch
– 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Guided tour in Cotlliure
– 5:30 PM: Return by coach, arriving in Barcelona around 8:00 PM
