⭐⭐Description⭐⭐

This Sunday's route is incredibly beautiful. It has a MEDIUM difficulty level, as the path goes through water and sometimes involves crossing rocky areas or passages under canes.

This river is not the Río Chillar (very crowded). It is likely that we won't encounter anyone, as it is less known and more wild.

🛤️ What is the route?

We start by walking along the path, crossing the river. A few meters away, there is a lane to the right that would take us to Acebuchal.

The river is divided into several sections, each with different characteristics, and almost entirely within the water.

👉FIRST section: The difficulty lies in the large amount of canes, so we must be careful not to get pricked. Our waist will also make a great effort to pass under them.

We will also encounter the first waterfalls. At this point, we find a stone landmark that indicates the way to continue.

To continue, it is easy. If we look for a small ascending path, it will lead us beneath the Peñón de los Hornos. Then, the descent back to the river begins. The point of descent is a bit tricky.

We continue until we reach another waterfall, passing through the wall of an irrigation channel, and descending again towards Barranco de Moreno.

👉SECOND section of the river: There are still stones in the riverbed, but now they are bigger, and we also enter a more open area.

We continue to see small waterfalls.

👉THIRD section: This is the most difficult to walk, with larger stones, small jumps, and a higher risk of slips.

It is also narrower and leads us to the end of the route, where we encounter the Torrox waterfalls.

Upon arrival, we see the impressive Salto de Torrox in the distance, preceded by another smaller but very beautiful one. We will see a rope with knots to help us climb. Once up there, all that remains is to admire and enjoy the view.

The return of the route follows the same path.

⭐⭐IMPORTANT: What to bring on the route?⭐⭐

1- Plenty of water, as it will be a six-hour hike. My advice is to bring 2 bottles (each one liter of water), one placed in the fridge the day before and the other in the freezer (this way, you'll have refreshing water halfway through the route 😉)

2- Sturdy water shoes that cover the ankle to prevent sprains. If you have water shoes, bring them, but... NO FLIP-FLOPS.

3- Snacks, nuts, and fruits.

4- A bag or something to protect electronic devices.

5- A change of shoes because yours will be soaked on the way back, and your feet need to be dry at the end of the route.
