Join us for an unforgettable journey to the stunning Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary 'El Rosario', a one-of-a-kind natural wonder!

The Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its crucial over-wintering habitats for millions of monarch butterflies. Nestled in the scenic Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt's pine-oak forests, this reserve straddles the borders of Michoacán and the State of Mexico, approximately 100 kilometers (62 miles) northwest of Mexico City. Every year, millions of butterflies migrate to this sanctuary, which spans 56,000 hectares, but they only occupy a small portion of it from October to March. The reserve's mission is to safeguard not only the butterflies but also their vital habitats.

Prepare for a moderately challenging uphill trek lasting about 1.5 hours. We will take our time to acclimatize to the altitude of 3,000 meters while soaking in the breathtaking views of the forest and the mesmerizing Monarch Butterflies. For those who prefer a more leisurely approach, horseback riding options are available.

To ensure we can provide adequate transportation for our group, please make your payment 5 to 7 days prior to the event date.

The tour price is 1,150 Mexican Pesos, which includes private transportation, an experienced driver, a bilingual guide, and admission to the Butterfly Sanctuary.
