Join us for an unforgettable journey to the breathtaking Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary 'El Rosario', a one-of-a-kind natural wonder.

The Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, serving as a crucial wintering habitat for millions of monarch butterflies. Nestled within the stunning Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, this reserve spans the pine-oak forests along the Michoacán and Mexico State border, approximately 100 km (62 miles) northwest of Mexico City. Every year, countless butterflies flock to this preserve from October to March, occupying only a small portion of its expansive 56,000 hectares. The primary goal of the biosphere is to safeguard both the butterflies and their vital habitat.

Our adventure includes a challenging but rewarding uphill trek lasting about 1.5 hours. We will take our time to acclimatize to the altitude of 3000 meters (9842 feet) while soaking in the mesmerizing views of the forest and the fluttering Monarch butterflies. For those who prefer a gentler ascent, horse rentals are available.

To ensure seamless transportation arrangements, please make your payment at least 5 to 7 days prior to the event date.

The cost for this experience is 1250 Mexican Pesos, which covers private group transportation, an experienced driver, a dedicated coordinator, and entrance fees to the Butterfly Sanctuary.

We will gather at Angel de la Independencia for pick-up.
