As it meanders through the main gorge for over 12 kilometers, the river creates breathtaking waterfalls, some reaching heights of more than 3.5 meters.

The name "Los Dinamos" harkens back to the Porfirio Díaz era (1876 - 1911), a period marked by industrial growth in Mexico. During this time, several hydroelectric plants harnessed the power of the Magdalena River to energize local textile factories in what is now the Magdalena Contreras area. Today, it remains a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, offering nature enthusiasts a chance to reconnect with the great outdoors.
